AI and Social Protection Policy Dialogue Highlights

On 15 April 2025, policymakers, technologists, and development experts came together for a policy dialogue on AI and Social Protection, exploring how AI can enhance service delivery for the rakyat.Discussions unpacked the urgent challenges, from legal safeguards to inclusivity for Persons with Disabilities and closing the digital literacy gap — presenting both gaps and emerging opportunities for a more equitable future. Co-organised by UNDP Malaysia and the Implementation Coordination Unit of the Prime Minister’s Department (ICU-JPM), with support from Khazanah Research Institute and the Australia High Commission, the policy dialogue on AI and Social Protection marks an essential step toward developing a data-driven and future-ready social protection framework for Malaysia.
