This Personal Data Protection Notice (“Policy”) describes how we manage and safeguard personal data. Personal data is information about a living person, including identification details, contact details and other information processed in conjunction with Khazanah Research Institute (“the Institute”).

The Personal Data We Collect

Primarily, our website is informational in nature. We do not collect any personal data or personally identifiable information when you visit our website unless you choose to provide that information to us. You may choose to provide us with information by contacting us, including for subscription to our publications, events, and for career enquiries or applications.

In the course of our services, you may provide personal data to us, as parties involved in our work. The processing of your personal information will be done in accordance with all applicable laws, and a personal data protection notice will be served on you if you provide your personal data pursuant to a commercial transaction with us.

Generally, we may use your information for the purposes of recruitment and other legitimate business purposes.Where you have consented, we may also use your information:

  • to provide you with publications and communications which we think you will find valuable; and
  • to invite you to events we think you may be interested in.

We do not sell or otherwise make personal information commercially available to any third party, except as described in this Policy or with your prior permission.

Disclosure of Your Personal Information

Unless you specify otherwise, the Institute may disclose your personal data to the following parties (including those within and outside Malaysia):

  • agents, contractors, vendors and service providers (including but not limited to professional, financial and/or payment service providers) that provide services including data processing services;
  • Your agents and advisors (including but not limited to professional advisors) and any other person notified by and authorised by you;
  • government agencies / statutory bodies / authorities;
  • our assignees or potential assignees, acquirers or potential acquirers and successors-in-title;
  • any person, who is under a duty of confidentiality who has undertaken the responsibility to keep such data confidential;
  • our related and associated companies and affiliates; and
  • other parties, in respect of whom you have consented to the disclosure of your personal data;

We do not disclose your personal data to unaffiliated third parties without your consent. However, we may disclose your personal data (within and outside Malaysia) in good faith, (i) to comply with requirements of the government, law enforcement agency, any authorities to whom the Institute is subject to or any orders of court; (ii) as is necessary or relevant in relation to any legal process; or (iii) if required or authorised by law.
